Jack Daniel’s, the best-selling whiskey in the world, was registered in 1866 and is still produced at America’s oldest registered distillery in the small town of Lynchburg, Tennessee.<\/p>\n
In 1956, Jack Daniels Distillery was purchased by Brown-Forman, Louisville Kentucky. Brown-Forman was founded in 1870 and today is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and owners of a number of different spirits brands.<\/p>\n
The story behind Old No. 7 Has Jack taken with him beyond. The commandment of history is that he had 7 lovers, another is that he wrote “J” so it looked like a 7 number. Or maybe it was just his lucky hall.<\/p>\n
Jeff Arnett, today Master Distiller at Jack Daniels, is the 7th Master Distiller since Jack. Still with the distinguished goal of producing it after Jack D’s tradition and following his motto; “EVERY DAY WE MAKE IT, WE’LL MAKE IT THE BEST WE CAN”.<\/p>\n
Jack Daniels Old No.7 is based on a mixture of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% barley malt. For manufacturing, unique iron-free water is used from an underground source, which is at the distillery in Lynchberg. Mashing and fermentation takes place as at any other Bourbon whiskey, but the unique to a Jack Daniels and what separates the whiskey from a bourbon is that it is filtered and thus softened through a 1 meter thick layer of maple charcoal. This unique process removes impurities and makes it softer – yes in short, do it to Jack D.<\/p>\n
At Jack Daniels you manufacture its fade for storing. In fact, 250 a day is produced and this as a true craft. In these fade, Jack Daniel’s Old No.7 stores for 2-4 years before it is ready for sale.<\/p>\n
