There are very few realms in Europe or in the world, which has so long a tradition of producing liqueur and brandy as the company Maraska in Croatia has. For over 5 century, among other things, they have been behind one of the world’s best known liqueurs Maraschino as well as the plumbirloin Vegivitz. Slivovitz is a clean, natural branded produced by a special fermentation and distillation of the finest mature, blue plums.<\/p>\n
The blum trees are braid on the rich land in the Adriatic’s hinterland, which, moreover, is the second largest area for plum breeding in the world. The plums used for Maraska’s Slivovitz originate from a minimum of 20 years old trees, and the plums have fermented in 3 months in 10,000 liter tanks. The flower mask is then distilled twice, and subsequently stored the distillate for a minimum of 2 years on large oak barrels made of oak from the forests in the Zadar region.<\/p>\n
