Ben Nevis 10 Years 2014\/2025 100 Proof Edition #63 is a dark, sherry-heavy Highland single malt bottled by Signatory Vintage. Distilled in 2014 and matured in a combination of first fill Pedro Xim\u00e9nez casks and second fill Oloroso sherry butts, it is bottled at the classic 100 proof strength of 57.1%, with no chill-filtration and no added colour. The result is a powerful, unapologetically old-school dram with serious depth and character.<\/p>\n
On the nose, you\u2019ll find dark, sweet chocolate, treacle and caramel, alongside nutty notes of hazelnut and pecan, raspberry jam, dried apricots and a faint earthy edge that is very typical of Ben Nevis.<\/p>\n
The palate is full-bodied and intense, delivering layers of raisins, dark syrup, chocolate, dried stone fruits and warming spice, with a subtle thread of smoke adding depth without ever taking over. The mouthfeel is distinctly oily and robust \u2013 it really feels like whisky drawn straight from the cask into the glass.<\/p>\n
The finish is long, warming and sweetly spicy, with lingering sherry richness, dark chocolate, nuts and a gentle mineral note that recalls the rugged Highland landscape at the foot of Ben Nevis.<\/p>\n
