Mafi-Rosso \u2013 Il Grande Vino<\/em> has a deep, intense red colour and an expressive nose packed with seductive berry aromas. The bouquet alone could charm even the most cautious lamb into trusting a mafia boss \u2013 and that\u2019s before you\u2019ve even tasted it.<\/p>\n

On the palate the wine is rich and inviting, with masses of juicy fruit and delicious spicy undertones, all elegantly wrapped in subtle notes from partial ageing in oak. A wine fit for any Don.<\/p>\n

Winemaking<\/h4>\n

Mafi-Rosso Il Grande Vino Rosso d\u2019Italia<\/em> is made from grapes harvested in carefully selected wine regions across Italy, hence the designation \u201cMigliore Selezione d\u2019Italia\u201d<\/em>. The vines grow mainly in sandy and clay-rich soils, and the many hours of sunshine give wonderfully ripe grapes with plenty of power. The result is a wine with intense flavour, fine complexity and a relatively high alcohol level.<\/p>\n

The grapes are gently harvested in the second half of October. The skins are then left in contact with the must for four days at 4 \u00b0C, after which fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for 10\u201312 days. Part of the wine is matured for six months in oak, before the final blend is bottled and given one of the characteristic labels \u2013 one for each member of the Mafi-Rosso \u201cfamily\u201d.<\/p>\n
