THE STORY
\nAalborg Jule Akvavit rests on the craftsmanship principles of old times. That\u2019s why it has its strong character, high caraway content, and robust taste. The recipe has remained unchanged since its launch in December 1982, though the bottle design has varied from Christmas to Christmas.<\/p>\n
The alcohol strength is 47%, equivalent to 8 degrees \u201cSpendrup\u201d \u2014 the old Danish measurement for alcohol used in the late 1800s.
\nTraditionally, Aalborg Jule Akvavit has been accompanied by an elegant gift box. However, new sustainability requirements and a focus on reducing packaging mean that the box will no longer be produced. Christmas is the season of tradition \u2014 and now, a new one is born, with the beautifully designed bottle itself taking center stage on the festive table. This year\u2019s Aalborg Jule Akvavit comes in the award-winning and exceptionally elegant bottle, created to celebrate Danish design and craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

We celebrate the Danish soul, tradition, and spirit \u2014 all beautifully expressed in the double meaning of The Danish Spirit. This year\u2019s design embraces Danish hygge \u2014 the warmth of the home, where we gather to enjoy each other\u2019s company, good food, and a fine aquavit.<\/p>\n
THE EXPERIENCE
\nAalborg Jule Akvavit is made from distillates of caraway, dill, and coriander seeds. Its aroma and taste reveal a robust character of caraway balanced by a fine aftertaste of orange, almond, and citrus.
\nA taste and quality that have repeatedly impressed the judges at the International Wines and Spirits Contest (IWSC) \u2014 most recently earning a gold medal and an impressive 95 out of 100 points. Back in 2016, Aalborg Jule Akvavit was crowned World\u2019s Best Spirit.<\/p>\n

\nAalborg Jule Akvavit pairs beautifully with almost all traditional Danish Christmas dishes \u2014 from marinated herring and salmon to roast pork, liver p\u00e2t\u00e9, and meatballs with pickles.
