Southern Comfort Original 100 CL 35%

American Whiskey Liqueur

Southern Comfort originally comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, where the recipe was written down in 1860 by Irene Martin Wilkes Heron. He worked as a bartender in the city. The production has taken place since 1874, but great sales and bottling first began in 1898 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Heron moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1889 to patent its creation. Then he started selling it in sealed bottles with the shrug “no real but my” and “two per customer. No gentleman would ask for more”. Southern Comfort won a gold medal at the World Exhibition 1904 in St. Louis, Missouri. Since the 1930s, the picture at the Southern Comfort brand has depicted a home in Mississippi. A portrayal of how Alfred Waudicts Woodland Plantation. Today it is a lovely mansion that offers bed-and-breakfast accommodation.

The recipe containing over 100 ingredients is still secret today. However, it is known that the base consists of immature bourbon, which is tasteful with different fruits such as apricot and lemon. The family-owned company Brown-Forman has owned the product since 1979. Southern Comfort is now part of the same group as, among other things, Jack Daniel Mix and Canadian Mist.

Southern Comfort has a wonderful light urban fragrance with hints of orange peel, apricot, vanilla and orange. With regard to taste, it is fruity with apricot and orange character and some hints of herbs.

Southern Comfort can be served cold with ice or used as a spice in different drinking contexts.
