Barossa Ink Shiraz 75 CL

Barossa Valley – Australia

Grant Burge from the Barossa Valley is one of Australia’s most traditional producers with just over 165 years under his belt in the heart of Australia’s most prestigious region.

The Barossa Valley is and will be world famous for shiraz, where the grape achieves the particularly aromatic and user-friendly profile associated with its overseas name (as opposed to syrah with French temperament, less drama and more tart fruit).

Barossa Ink Shiraz is an innovation from the winemaking team at Grant Burge, led by local wine hero Craig Stansborough. The aim of this wine was and is to create an affordable but densely packed shiraz with full power and aroma.
After a fermentation in stainless steel, the wine is aged in a mixture of new American and two to six year old casks of French and American origin.

The wine appears dark and dense in colour, with a large body and an aromatic profile led by potent, sweet forest berry fruit supported by notes of barrel ageing. A little Finnish licorice and chocolate round off the glory; everything held in a seamless, well-polished style, where the fruit remains at the center and tannins shine in their absence.

This is power wine that can make any Francophile run away screaming, while enthusiasts can enjoy solid bang for the buck.

We recommend that the wine be served around 16-18°.
