Togouchi – Aged 18 Years 70 CL 43,8%
Japanese Blended Whisky
Chugoku Jozo may not be the name that calls the most bells with most, but it is nevertheless those who stand behind Togouchi, one of the most obscure blends in the market. This 18-year-old blend is not only particular because of its high age, but because of the background of its composition. There are none of the components produced in Japan, and instead has imported Maltwhisky from Scotland and Grainwhisky from Canada, and filled it on oak barrels in Japan.
Then it has been allowed to store in something as unique as an old railway tunnel – a much needed diversion from traditional department stores – and ultimately bottled to this turbulent marvel.
Nose: Fragrant oak and thyme honey with a touch of brandy cherry downstairs.
Gane: Sultana and dried apricot, floral barley, stalk ginger and a touch of baking directions.
Finish: Continuous caramel and cereal. Vanilla tips and orange peel.
