Signature Vintage Orkney 18 Years – Whiskey from the Cask Strength Collection
Signatory Vintage released this Orkney Single Cask Whisky. The Scotch is part of the bottler’s Cask Strength Collection. If you believe the information on the label, this is a whiskey from Highland Park. The Scotch was able to enjoy its 18-year barrel maturation from 2005 to 2023. It slumbered in First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt with barrel number DRU17 A63 #9. It was bottled at cask strength and with an alcohol content of a strong 55.8% by volume. Dyes and cooling filtration were omitted. There are only 533 bottles available for purchase worldwide.
Nose: The whiskey fills the nose with notes of sherry and dried fruit. It also gives the impression of berries. Spices and heather round off the scent of Scotch.
Tasting: The Signatory Vintage Orkney 18 Years Cask is full on the tongue. It tastes of berries and cherries. Behind them are raisins and dates. Caramel and honey provide creamy sweetness. A touch of smoke and oak introduces the finish.
Finish: The finish is long lasting. The Scot says goodbye to the impression of sherry. It leaves spice and heather after drinking. Smoky notes and fruit last a long time.
