Les Peyrautins Sauvignon Blanc 75 CL

Côtes de Tarn – France

In the south-western corner of France, lovely, aromatic and cracklingly crisp sauvignon blanc is grown. The grape seems to do particularly well here, producing white wines with bursting healthy fruit and floral aromas with a high charm factor. The same grape can be found in the wines from sancerre and pouilly-fumé, but these are not as intensely aromatic.

Les Peyrautins Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Tarn department, named after the river of the same name. which lies approximately midway between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean near Albi.

A low fermentation temperature and storage in steel tanks until bottling preserves the floral elements in the wine and gives a fresh, sprightly fruit.

Aroma and taste show straightforward and grape-identical elements of grapefruit, gooseberry, elderflower and some exotic fruit. There is no particular fullness in the wine, but aromatically the wine takes a huge revenge with beautiful and persistent intensity.

Sushi, a salad with warm goat cheese, pickled fish, grilled fish, sushi, a grilled chicken, smoked salmon, Asian food on the spicier end; the possibilities are many with this very versatile wine. Many like it as a glass in the early morning, where the combination of lightness and intensity is in focus.

Enjoy the wine in its youth, preferably served in spacious white wine glasses and at a serving temperature of approx. 6-10°.
