La Maison Du Rhum – Republique Dominicaine Solera 12 70 CL 42%

Premium Aged Rum – Dominican Republic

La Maison Du Rhum Republique Dominicaine is a Spanish style rum that comes to us from Oliver & Oliver, a Dominican rum giant. Its aging in American oak barrels in the solera system indicates an average age of 12 years.

Nico’s tasting note
The nose opens with a fairly light rum, but characterized by toasted notes. It is the cask that brought out the majority of the aromas, including caramel, vanilla and of course the toasted woodiness. We also imagine a strongly roasted dish that gives a powdery side, with a hint of charcoal and strong coffee. The rest takes us to a rum that is a little more loaded with sugar and molasses, like a battery syrup.

The taste is soft, with slightly woody and toasted notes reminiscent of maple syrup. The rum gives off a certain warmth that removes the lightness in the nose. The caramel is very cooked, it is accompanied by molasses and an animalic touch of leather.

The finish is round and sweet, balanced with toasted notes.

“A typical light rum from the island, with toasted notes that become very sweet on the palate…”

NOSE: Star fruit, apple, cinnamon

mouth: vanilla, blond tobacco, exotic fruits.
