From the sublime Spirit of Oak range (originally released to the Travel Retail market) Cuartillo, another Super Sherry-aged single malt from Glengoyne, who was named after the rural neighborhood, or Pagos *, in Jerez, Spain.
The first in the series of four drainages was this bottling based on whiskey downloaded from American oak Oloroso Sherry fade, bottled without further staining at 40% abv.
TASKING Note
Nose: Toffee apples, slightly acacia honey and roasted barley originally with dried peel and soft spice in the background.
Gane: The palate begins with creamy vanilla, nectarines in syrup and spice and a touch of espresso. Butterscotch, stalk ginger and chocolate orange gives depth.
Finish: An oily finish terminates with a little oak crossing.
