An innovative grape blend forms the basis of this white wine, which, just like its successful red alter ego, provides excellent wine for the price.
The grape material is sourced from sunny Sicily, where on the west coast you benefit from temperate breezes from the Mediterranean. Sicily’s enormous potential as a wine country now seems to be bearing fruit after many years of sleep. In line with large investments in both field care and technical know-how, Sicily seems to have finally taken a well-deserved place on the great Italian wine list.
The grapes are harvested in the early hours of the morning, when the sugar and acid content of the grapes is optimal. After the end of cold fermentation, the chardonnay wine is aged for 4 months in oak, which is just enough to give the wine a little creamy charm without the cask character leaving its heavy mark on the wine. The Pinot grigio grape is usually found in exclusive Northern Italian DOCs (with associated exclusive prices), but in Sicily, they have quickly sought after it, and here you can thus acquire this fashionable grape at affordable prices.
The blend of pinot grigio and chardonnay is a happy marriage of restrained fullness and blooming freshness. Aroma and taste are dominated by citrus, pear and melon in a light-bodied and dry style with freshness as the focal point
Da Luca Pinot Grigio/Chardonnay is an aromatic and tasty white wine for lighter lunch dishes, salads and dishes with fish or shellfish.
Enjoy young and chilled at 9-11 degrees.
