Signatory Vintage is an independent bottlers that were founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington. The name ‘signatory’ was derived from the original intention to find a person with appropriate status to sign the labels for bottles drawn from a single dish. The first dish that was bottled was a Glenlivet from 1968, which was quickly sold for long before any suitable signature could be found.

The signer currently bottles in three forces: 43%, 46% unclocked (UCF) and Fading. In order to add evidence of authenticity to their fadan power caps, the signator must always include fad numbers, date of distillation, date of bottling and number of bottles produced .Signatory Vintage goal is to offer such a wide range of whiskeys as possible, some of which do not even drain it proprietary distillery. This gives Malt enthusiast the opportunity to try the enormous selection of subtle differences that arise between dishes.

This single malt whiskey was distilled by strong peat barley in 2013 at the Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay before it was placed in a decoupled and then resculled ex Bourbon Hogshead. It was matured for not less than 7 years and was bottled at 46% ABV in June 2021.

Our taste notes
Nose: BananLollies, smoldering dry shoot, salt sea spray, spoken meat and dark coffee combined with orchard.

Taste: Fed dry smoke tones lead to salted caramel, gardening and touch of iodine.

Completion: creamy drying, some underlying fruits in orchard and salted syrup caramels.

About the distillery
Bunnahabhain Distillery is the northernmost and most remote on the island of Islay and was opened in 1883 to make use of excess cereals from local farmers. The name Bunnahabhain is translated as the ‘mouth of the river’, and if you ever visit, you will see that the distillery is built near the mouth of the Margadale river, which runs out in Sound of Islay. Profit Bú-Na-Ha-Friend, this Islay Single Malt Scotch whiskey is quite separated from the many others on the island, given the wonderfully gentle flavoring profile, as it is known for.
