Boneshaker Zinfandel – Lodi – Hahn 75 CL

Lodi California USA

The renowned Californian producer, Hahn, is behind this powerful zinfandel, mainly from Lodi, an area that is synonymous with the zinfandel grape and precisely in Lodi is represented by the country’s largest proportion of very old vineyards. Between the San Joaquin and the Sacramento Valley, Lodi is warm, as we are so far inland that sea breezes and cooling morning mists do not reach here. The soil is partly alluvial and partly very sandy with elements of lime and clay; perfect for growing the thick-skinned grape types, which at the same time thrive in the heat. Boneshaker Zinfandel is made from old, crooked vines that produce a low yield of concentrated grapes. In other words, everything is staged for a fistful of wine.

Winemaker Paul Clifton has chosen to use half new French barriques, while the rest is made up of old, neutral casks.

Boneshaker is definitely a full-bodied wine with great substance and power, but at the same time it has soft tannins and an unpretentious twinkle in the eye that makes it easy to understand.
Aroma and taste have densely packed elements of prune, blueberry, Cherry-Coke, raspberry, BBQ spice, smoke and espresso.

Enjoy this wine from a large wine glass with a hearty roast – also with a hearty burger, where other red wines can otherwise have a particularly difficult time!

We recommend a serving temperature of 16-18°.

Boneshaker Zinfandel is ready to drink now, but it will also be ageable for at least a handful of years.
